Wild Thing artwork and Little Muir’s Song!
Little Muir’s Song is officially out! This picture board book pairs the brilliant words of John Muir with my illustrations! Pick up a signed copy from my shop, or from your favorite bookseller! If you’re in the San Diego area, join me at my book launch this Saturday 10am at ROVE for a discussion of the artwork I made for this book, personalized copies, a raffle to benefit Yosemite Conservancy, s’mores and coloring sheets, and more!
If you pre-ordered Little Muir’s Song, please consider leaving a 5-star review on Amazon or Goodreads — that’s one of the greatest ways to support a new book!
“Little Muir’s Song illustrates the connection between nature and people, while building respect and love. The illustrations are simple and match perfectly to the text. Little Muir wanders through forests and mountains with a contagious joy.” –Bookworm For Kids
I was also honored to be profiled by Voice of San Diego’s Julia Dixon Evans in this week’s Culture Report. Read all about it here: https://www.voiceofsandiego.org/topics/arts/culture-report-susie-ghahremani-is-wild-at-heart/
I will also be appearing here in San Diego at the San Diego Festival of Books next Saturday, August 24th. At 10:30 am, I’ll be in discussion with my friends and peers Salina Yoon, Andrea Zimmerman and Jennifer L Holm on a panel titled “Inspiring Imaginations: Very Young Picture Books” (Tickets are required) followed by a book signing at Mysterious Galaxy’s tent! RSVP.
Meanwhile, international art show WILD THING in Sydney, Australia at the Royal Botanic Garden is up for just a couple more days! The opening reception was wonderful, and I was honored to attend my first exhibit on the continent. If you’re in the area, please visit WILD THING from 10am-4pm any day until August 18th. You can take a peek at all the available artwork by all the artists in the show on the Flickr page of the Foundation and Friends here.
Below is a preview of my artwork from the show (some has already sold — pricing and availability is listed on the Flickr link) if you are interested in purchasing any of my pieces, please contact the Foundation and Friends at [email protected]
Please note prices are listed in Australian Dollars, not USD, and shipping to the US has been estimated to cost $80 AUD (about $55 USD)
Other appearances:
If you stop in to Yosemite National Park, you’ll also be able to find this limited and exclusive baby outfit featuring a licensed quote by John Muir from the book! (or get it online from Yosemite Conservancy)
I’ll be swinging into Yosemite myself in a few weeks to sign copies of Little Muir’s Song, so expect those to be available soon, too!
You can also find my art up in Portland at BuyOlympia Forever (sold, but still on view) and at Robot Remix in Pasadena (sold, but still on view)
And that about wraps it up!
