And now, some updates:
This Saturday, June 21st, I’ll have 4 paintings at Giant Robot’s annual UGLYCON Uglydolls art show opening at noon. My paintings are a tribute to bats and specifically Ice Bat, the Uglydoll character now celebrating its 10th anniversary. Visit the show at 2062 Sawtelle Blvd, or online soon at gr2.net
July 3rd, I’ll have a piece in an art show curated by Jordin Isip opening in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY. Dime Bag 4 – a fun and full group show in which all work is contained by a 3×3″ plastic bag – opens at The End is Near Gallery, 465a 7th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215 from 6-8pm. more info
Thursday, July 10th, I’ll be bringing my handmade shop to Portland for the very first time to showcase at ROADSHOW: Portland at the Portland Art Museum. Running from 7-10pm, this event will include the work of 60+ artists. More info over here.
More great news:
1. My hot-off-the-press Red Sweater Bear T-shirt was thoughtfully mentioned on Daring Fireball (Thank you again, DF!) — thanks to all who have supported my art + Red Sweater Software’s vision! Tag us on twitter (@danielpunkass @boygirlparty), we love to see it out there in the real world!
2. My debut picture book – What Will Hatch? written by Jennifer Ward and published by Bloomsbury – was selected by the Children’s Book Committee at the Bank Street for their Best of the Best Children’s Books list (under age 5 category).
3. In addition to this prestigious honor, and this month’s honor of being featured in the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrator (SCBWI)’s magazine, my original paintings from What Will Hatch have been selected for a SCBWI art show in Carlsbad, CA this September! YAY!
