What Will Hatch?

What-Will-HatchIn just one month, my very first picture book “What Will Hatch” will be released by Walker/Bloomsbury! The book is a unique hybrid of my contemporary illustration combined with the educational strengths of the kind of classic nature books that teach children to love the world around them! Artfully written by Jennifer Ward (our fourth book collaboration!), I’m proud to be the illustrator of this book incorporating die cuts and teaching kids that animals such as the WONDROUS PLATYPUS & TOOTHY CROCODILES actually hatch from EGGS! (Weird/awesome, right?!) ISBN # 9780802723116

The book can be pre-ordered through an indie bookseller near you or a mega bookseller like Amazon and officially releases on February 12, 2013.

Kirkus has this to say:

Ghahremani’s picture-book debut features incredible hand-lettering and muted, textured tones that are Etsy-hipster to the max, but they work well in this quiet nature story. Science for the very young is done best through joyous learning; education will certainly hatch from these pages.

Booklist says:

This attractive picture book introduces a variety of animals’ eggs in brief phrases that include the question “What will hatch?”

Believe it or not, I spent the better part of two years working on and creating artwork for this book — each page was hand painted in gouache on a large block of wood! — and could not be more excited about its release! It’s recommended for readers aged 2-5.
